fall farm fest

  last wednesday was fiberflame’s debut event at the woodstock farm festival!  over fifty children and adults cut and layered, hammered and glued, painted and drew, creating some amazing mixed-media collages from autumn-inspired materials. 

we loved meeting new people, seeing old friends and watching families and friends gather around the process of making-- experimenting and learning from one another.  for christina and i, this event was a delicious taste of the invigorating creative energy we’ll get to encounter and encourage once the studio is open.  we can't wait!

we're famous!!

we were so excited to pick up a copy of the saugerties times this morning and find a photo of yours truly accompanied by an article about fiberflame and our new building (which can't go up fast enough)! get your copy, read all about it, and support our local press.

scarecrow fest!

we're psyched for fiberflame's first pre-opening event, this saturday, october 1st!

 

we'll be set up in a mobile studio at the scarecrow festival with lots of fun tools and treasures, like silver seedpods and scanned leaves so detailed they look real.  after our walks in the woods and trips to the hardware store this past week, we couldn't help but jump in and make a few autumn-inspired collages!
